As a first generation immigrant, Nick Kriadis realized the great American dream was available to anyone who was willing to take a risk and work hard. After spending several years in the electronics industry, he decided to strike out on his own. While the going was difficult at the beginning, with his wife Dee by his side, he never gave up on his dream and managed to turn an idea into a reality.
Founded in 1969 on the south side of Chicago, Hobart Electronics was originally set up to serve the greater Chicago market producing primarily coils. The company operated in Chicago until 1972, when the facility expanded to Northwest Indiana. Hobart Electronics operated from an unincorporated area of Lake County Indiana just outside of Hobart, Indiana until 1983.
In 1983, Hobart Electronics acquired an entire city block in Hobart, Indiana and construction began on the 30,000 sq. ft. facility was designed and built to meet the specific needs of the company. It houses our corporate headquarters which includes Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Administration, Production, Warehouse, and Machining.
We now have over 100,000 sq feet of job shop manufacturing space throughout the world.
Unlike some of our competitors, Hobart Electronics is privately held and managed by experienced, second-generation family members. This continuity of ownership brings a tremendous knowledge base that is only secured through working with hundreds of customers, addressing their challenges and providing appropriate solutions.
Our focus is strictly on the design and production of high-quality electronic components. Our commitment will always be you, our customer, and doing whatever it takes to meet your electronic component needs.
