Hobart Electronics Acquires Assets of Imag, LLC

Hobart Electronics Acquired the assets of Imag, LLC! “Hobart Electronics is pleased to announce that it has acquired the assets of Imag, Intermag Limited Company, LLC, located in Tempe, AZ and Nogales, Mexico effective March 1, 2015. Founded in 1969, Hobart Electronics is a privately held company that manufactures custom transformers, inductors, coils and other electro mechanical assemblies. The company is headquartered in Hobart, Indiana with Global Manufacturing Facilities in Mexico and China.

Although technically an acquisition, we would like to consider it a ‘merger’ of best practices, top talent, capacity and capabilities.  Imag will continue to operate from its current facilities in Arizona and Nogales.

Together Hobart Electronics and Imag will bring our customers over 60 years of combined Electrical Engineering Design support. Jointly we produce and design linear, high frequency switch-mode transformers inductors and coils with product ranges from 1VA to 10KVA. Our products are used in low profile power supply applications in the Medical, Power, Audio, Vending, Renewable Energy, Semi-Conductor Equipment and Industrial Controls market segments and many more.

The combination of Hobart Electronics and Imag doubles Hobart’s North American manufacturing capacity, extends our reach west of the Mississippi and offers expanded UL files and Insulation Systems. We are also pleased to provide our new Imag customers expanded sales coverage east of the Mississippi, greater design expertise specifically with regards to high frequency; switch-mode magnetics design and expanded global manufacturing capacity.
